“FEELS LIKE HOME” PROJECT
Special Award “SOS CHILDREN’S VILLAGES”
It contributes to reduce separation of children from migrant families. It promotes and activates an intercultural foster families network able to host mother-child groups. It develops a model of individual support for foster mothers in order to facilitate the access to employment and a good personal and financial level of autonomy. it provides unaccompanied minors with an accommodation by foster families, especially when such minors are victims of exploitation.
These listed above are the aims of the “FEELS LIKE HOME” Project, which is carried out by S.O.S. Children’s
Villages Italia along with the Social Services of the Comune of Turin.
This is an innovative project that helps to provide an accommodation to those children who cannot live with their families, yet always aiming to reintegrate them.
It runs nursery schools, schools and community centres, and it strengthens state education. It supports communities in improving buildings and medical services so that every child can benefit from a basic healthcare.
