Subtle and unstable enemies, whose cruelty often seemed to us as something distant. Something that did not really concern us. Up until 2020, when Covid-19 affected our lives. With a viral load that express all of its violence and brutality. And then, when facing the seriousness of such events, fighting the invisible enemy became something visible and widely understood. Explained in methods and recognised in aims. An endless and steady work, conducted tirelessly and on the front line, yet away from the spotlights. We all have to be extremely grateful. For what it has been conquered in the name of the community, for that essential service, we can all just say thank you. With a new awareness and revalued faith. In science, in progress and in common good.
